Cow-Calf
September- Calves have had their second round of vaccinations and are now green tagged. They are now weaned and on feed. They are growing very rapidly. The month of September has been very dry in our area, so the pastures are not growing back as well as we hoped, therefore we are having to rotate pastures more often than anticipated.
Cows and calves are doing excellent! We are proud to say that we had 100% live births for the third straight year! We've had plenty of rain to keep the pasture growing which helps the cows stay conditioned while milking. They also get a little supplement feed everyday just so we can check on them and to keep their condition for breeding. The calves are also on creep feed (which is like starter feed) and it is noticable as they are growing very quickly.
